Shareholders’ meetings – primarily categorized into “Annual General Meetings (AGM)” and “Extraordinary General Meetings (EOGM)” – are official gatherings where a company’s shareholders exercise their voting rights and oversee corporate governance. An “AGM” is a mandatory yearly assembly where management presents audited financial statements, declares dividends, elects or reappoints board members, and appoints external auditors. In contrast, an “EOGM” is called on an as-needed basis to vote on urgent, high-priority matters that cannot wait for the next annual meeting, such as approving major mergers or acquisitions, issuing new capital, or amending company bylaws.
